Desert (Jean-Marie Le Clézio)
His name is Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clézio, won the Nobel for Literature in 2008.Went to Nigeria when he was eight years old, where his father, a doctor, was laid during World War II. Perhaps this experience explains his knowledge and sensitivity about Africa and allowed him to write Desert, his great masterpiece. Le Clézio has created a rich character - young Lalla - walking through the desert hills where warriors, children, women, old people and animals try to escape death.
